Home with Mom

Cory was off on Monday, so today was Claire and mommy's first day of summer vacation together at home.  We are quickly falling into a routine and learning some important lessons along the way.  Lesson one started with her pool, I thought I was thinking ahead by filling Claire's pool early in the morning so it would warm up by mid-morning.  Not thinking that for a toddler a pool of water is just too tempting to wait for your swimsuit and jumping in with all your clothes on seems like a good idea.  When I tried to take her inside to get her swimsuit there was serious protesting.   Lesson learned fill the pool when you plan on using it!

Second lesson was during a trip to Walmart, I let Claire out of the cart to walk around for a bit (usually when Cory and I go together one of us shops while the other walks Claire around).  Well after walking around for awhile the little miss did not want to get back into the cart.  I am officially one of those mother's in Walmart with the screaming kid.  Claire would at least let me carry her so I could finish shopping.  Lesson learned, when flying solo at Walmart Claire stays in the cart.

My last lesson was learned while preparing dinner.  I put chicken in the oven and went outside to walk up the sidewalk with Claire (she likes to check out the neighbors cats).  After 25 minutes the chicken needed to be checked on,  I told Claire we had to go inside, but Claire was not ready to come back in yet.  Of course we are three houses away, so when I picked her up, I think the whole neighborhood heard her repeated "No, No, No".  Lesson learned, stay close to home when cooking dinner in the oven.  Now that I made my rookie mistakes and I am hoping for smoother day tomorrow. :)

Below are some photos from today:
