Heat Wave

It had been very hot these past few days.  Claire and I have been keeping cool with the sprinkler and kiddie pool.  Yesterday our air conditioner stopped working :(  It was one hot night, Claire slept in a t-shirt and a diaper.  Thankfully the repair man came this afternoon and we are cool and comfortable again.

This week Claire has discovered the fun of opening kitchen cabinets and playing with their contents.  She likes to take out the measuring cups and spoons and pretend to drink or eat from them.  I tried to keep track of which ones she put her mouth so I could wash them.  Until she took so many out I couldn't keep track anyone, so everything went in the dishwasher tonight.  I purchased cabinet locks and put them on, only to realize not only are they 'Claire-proof', they are 'mommy-proof' as well. Once they were on I couldn't get them off no matter how hard I tried.  I had to wait for Cory to come home so he could get them off.  I am on hunt for cabinet locks that I can take off. 

It's the small steps towards independence.....Claire started eating yogurt by us feeding her, then we would scoop yogurt on to her spoon, and now she holds the container and spoon herself and scoops yogurt. 

We are headed to Rochester this weekend to see Grandma & Grandpa and celebrate Aunt Becky's birthday!
