Ear infection :(

Claire has an ear infection. Her cough wasn't improving so we planned on taking her to the doctor Monday morning. On Sunday night she woke up very upset; she could fall back asleep in our arms but did not want to lay down in her crib. She is on antibiotics for the next 10 days and will go back to the doctor to have her ear re-checked. Nana and Papa were watching her on Monday so she got lots of attention. I am home with her today, she is not quite well enough for daycare.

I am definitely a rookie mom when it comes to giving medicine. Yesterday I tried using the medicine syringe they gave me at the pharmacy, Claire spit it back out. Then I tried feeding her the medicine with a spoon, Claire kept drooling the medicine out the side of her mouth. Next we tried mixing it with peaches and that seemed better. This morning I mixed a 1 ounce bottle of milk with the medicine and that worked the best. She is pretty hungry in the morning so she took the whole dose very quickly. 

Below are more pictures from this weekend. We played outside on a blanket while Dad worked on the shed. Claire liked picking the grass, then would try to eat it before I stopped her. That grass eating game provided a morning's worth of entertainment.
