Baby Jail!

After improvising baby gates (by using exersaucers, chairs, cushions) we finally broke down and bought two more gates, turning our house into Baby Jail! While her expression in the photos looks happy, her initial reaction to being limited to one room was mixed. This weekend was filled with outside chores - taking care of leaves and cleaning gutters (thanks papa for the help). On Saturday we took Claire grocery shopping, she happily sat in the cart and people watched. On Sunday Nana and Papa came down to help around the house and get some Claire time.

Daylight savings time came to an end this past weekend, and I would usually celebrate the extra hour of sleep. But even with our best efforts Claire apparently doesn't know how to tell time and woke up at 5:45am. But a quick check of Facebook reassures Julie and I that the problem is far from unique. We were able to keep her up an hour longer tonight, so hopefully she sleeps until 6:30am or fingers crossed 7:00am tomorrow.

On Saturday Morning, Dad was eating a granny smith apple and playing with Claire. She went in to investigate and I let her have a little nibble expecting it to be too sour for her, surprisingly enough I didn't get my apple back. She uses her two little teeth to carve away baby sized bites. On Sunday to show off for Nana and Papa we pealed an apple and again she went to town.

She likes to stick our her tongue to feel her teeth, it makes for some cute photos.

Our new game is using the diaper box as a sled around the house. Papa took her all over the kitchen and dining room.
