Stroller walks and rattles

Thankfully spring is arriving and the weather is getting nicer so we can go outside and not be cooped up indoors. Yesterday Claire and I took a stroller ride to visit dad at work and then we walked to the post office to mail letters. If the rain holds off today I am hoping to get outside again.

Aunt Sarah's visit

A few more pictures from Aunt Sarah's visit. When Sarah moved apartments a few years ago she no longer needed her dining room table. We have been using it as a desk in our family room and now it serves as Claire's changing table.

Conversation between Sarah and I:

Sarah: "Is that my dining room table?"
Me: "Yes"
Sarah: "You change diapers on my dining room table?!?!?"
Me: "Yes, it's the perfect height"
Sarah: "Dirty diapers on my dining room table, I don't want the table back you can keep it."
Me: "If you wanted it back, it could be easily cleaned up."
Sarah: "That's OK you can keep it."

Happy Easter

After a busy Easter weekend spending time with Aunt Sarah (Nana and Papa also) on Friday, Driving to Rochester on Saturday and Easter Dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's House on Sunday, it is nice to be home. Here are some quick photos of the busy weekend, and we will follow up with stories later in the week.

Wait, I have to bounce this myself?

Sleeping on the job

One thing the doctor recommended at Claire's well visit was to incorporate more tummy time during the day. Claire is indifferent to tummy time, she will play along but it is not her favorite activity. I learned early on that tummy time is not good on a full stomach. So I wait awhile after a feeding to start tummy time. However, sometimes it falls too close to nap time. So tummy time, is quickly converted to sleepy time.

Do you have kids?

Yesterday Claire and I visited Nana and Papa for the day. Papa watched Claire while Nana and I went shopping.

A funny story from our shopping trip.
My mom and I were looking at appliances and the sales clerk was showing me an oven that won't show fingerprints. He was telling me how great the feature is with kids and asked me "Do you have any kids?" Without thinking I said "No". The second it came out of my mouth I was stunned, realizing for so many years when I got asked that question the answer was always "No". It was the first time since Claire was born that I had been asked that question. I definitely got the side-eye from my mom and quickly had to back-track, saying that yes I had a daughter, she is 2 months old, so right know I don't worry about fingerprints. The clerk looked a little stunned and didn't quite know what to make of my response and quickly moved on to showing me dishwashers. After 30 years of saying "No, I don't have any kids", I can finally say "Yes, I do." - I just have to remember that I do.

2 month well visit

Claire's 2 month well visit was today, she weighs 12 pounds (75th percentile) and is 24 inches long (95th percentile). At 2 months immunizations start, Claire got 3 shots and 1 oral dose. It was tough on mom and dad, but Claire was a trooper and hardly fussed afterwards.
